David Asante Boateng, the managing director of the Ghana Publishing Company, has endorsed Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the best candidate to represent the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the impending 2024 elections.

Mr. David Boateng is respected for his insightful observations and persuasive attitude, therefore his endorsement has considerable weight within the party and Ghana’s political scene.

Mr. Boateng, a well-known supporter of Bawumia, is passionate about leading the NPP to a significant showing in the elections of 2024. He is adamant that the choice of Dr. Bawumia as the party’s standard bearer is crucial to the party’s potential to have a significant and revolutionary influence. This outspoken support mirrors the opinions of a growing segment of NPP members who see Bawumia as a vibrant and talented leader with a vision for advancement.

He bases his support on the belief that Dr. Bawumia has already cemented his position as the best candidate, as shown by the outcomes of the recent NPP special delegates conference election that took place over the weekend. The case for Dr. Bawumia’s candidacy has been strengthened by the delegates’ emphatic statement of support.

Mr. Asante Boateng stressed the urgent need for a collaborative attitude that firmly emphasizes the overall success of the party in his remarks on Asempa FM’s flagship program, Ekosii Sen.

He emphasized Vice President Bawumia’s accomplishments and commitment to service, highlighting these traits as essential components of the NPP’s success.

“You have gone into an election and 160 people voted and in the strongest hold of the party and in the biggest region that gives the party the best of political support and endorsement you got 10 out 120 votes. If someone is close to the powers that be, they should advise them that it is in their own interest. Constitutionally, it is correct to carry the contest to the latter even if it is clear who will emerge victorious. But to what end?” he quizzed.

Additionally, Mr. Boateng underlined the necessity for all members to unite around a common objective, putting the success of the NPP in the approaching elections as the overarching objective.

He asked anyone running against Vice President Dr. Bawumia to put the party’s objectives above personal ambitions, expressing a great belief in his leadership ability. This, in his opinion, is essential to guaranteeing the NPP’s success in 2024.

According to Boateng, the results of the election for the special delegates serve as a crystal-clear indication of the party’s preferences. He advised the other candidates to gracefully withdraw and support Vice President Dr. Bawumia’s campaign, especially in light of the overwhelming win he won inside the party headquarters itself.

“We respect the political processes; we respect the democratic principles. But what will be the recommendation of the NEC of the NPP for the two clashing individuals gearing up for a run-off? Even at the party head office, Dr. Bawumia won convincingly. What does this say? It is okay to give up in politics so we should not consider what the NDC is saying. We love the party but until we win the 2024 election to get the mandate and power to govern, all our good intentions cannot manifest,” Mr. Asante Boateng said.

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia won the special delegates conference with an outstanding 629 votes (68.15%) of the total ballots cast. Kennedy Agyapong, who received 132 votes (14.30%), came in second place. With 95 and 36 votes, respectively, Alan Kyerematen and Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto took third and fourth place.
